I think that some days a guys pride can only take so many blows and it is really easy to feel as if "last" is the best he/she can do. The next day you will be driving down the ice road to ole "california" and some little 10 year old will meet you with a big smile holding a 14" crapppie.
You gave him that opportunity!
Another "Good Guy" in this world!
I can't wait to shake your hand!

I don't think nice guys finnish last if they are as hard driven as the the rest of the pack. I get to deal with some people that are considered very nice. One for instance started a company 20 years ago and sold it for a nice sum to a large corperation. Many of his customers were very loyal to him because he is fair and great to deal with. He had concern how his customers were doing and tried to help anyway he could. Now, I hear complaints about how this new owner isn't very nice to his little customers. Some of them have gone to other venders, some are looking around. So I know this nice guy and direct all these unhappy customers to him. This in turn helps me out because he gets all his stuff from me. We have a circle of nice guys that watch out for each other.

Personally I would rather hang out with a nice guy or gal than anybody else at least you know they are honest dependable and truly in the end they win bad guys will in the end lose For instance if fishing with someone else it would be nice if I caught the biggest fish but to see somebody else do it It makes me feel good to see the happiness they have.

The question was , "Do nice guys finish last?"
It would seem to me that the answer TOTALLY depends on what you are pursuing. Certainly nice guys finish last in some endeavors...they are not looking to finish high in the ratings for those things. For example...lots of nice guys will never have to hear their kids tell them they wish they never had to see them, etc. That is merely an example...but it frames the idea...nice guys finish last in what contests??
It seems to me that nice guys finish pretty far up the scale in most everything they attempt to finish high in. Things like integrity, honor, family relationships, deeper and more trusting friendships, the ability to sleep well at night, the ability to look into the mirror at the end of the day and say, "I am pretty satisfied that the things you did and pursued on this day were ones that are of lasting value".
If those are the contests we are talking about then nice guys not only don't finish last...they finish way up in the standings.

Last, first, or in the middle. At least you did it. But, the answer is no.

Heres a example. Of very good friend of mine has always been a giver? He does have a small drinking problem that has caused quite a bit of hardship. He is not a mean drunk but likes his beer. He is also a very good fishermen. Last week after coming in from a great day of fishing the old neighbors ask if he could help get there pontoon running. He has not had a drink in over a month so he goes over to help them out. He's leaning over the rail when he here's a loud pop. Later that eve, he relizes he either cracked or broke a rib? He went from having a great day of fishing to being punished for helping out or maybe it was just a fluke? It seems his life is constantly like this with huge highs great fishing that day to huge lows cracked rib no insurance just because he is willing to help out. I wish him all the luck in the world as he is a gerat guy and one of the biggest givers I have ever met. I just don't get it when there are a$$holes out there and everything goes there way or maybe it just seems that way
