By chance has anyone here fished the White Iron chain near Ely for opener? Looking to snagg some walleyes. This is a stained water lake with (naturally) lots of structure (like most lakes in the area). Im planning to start out in shallow (3-8 feet) water near breaks and moving water. If anyone thinks this is a moronic plan, let me know - I hail from another part of the state with fertile, soup bowl type structure where dragging a lindy rig will catch fish all season long. I dread the thought of rocks, snaggs, and endless structure (please dont laugh). I have fished many lakes in the canadian shield and (most likely because of my lack of skill in jigging and low tolerance for snaggs) have had excellent success using a slip bobber. Any pointers?
