This weekend I got out on turtle lake and couldn't even find fish on the sonar. Moved around for a few hours and decided to leave.
The crappie action has been great on Coon so my friend and I packed and went that way. Hit the hole and kept 14 crappie. Surprisingly some of these were more than just descent sized. We threw back quite a few too. The ice was about 15" thick. On Coon, I have been lucky with crappie minnows until dark when waxies have been working better. I have caught a lot of black crappie in 14 ft. of water and found white crappie in 17 ft. Both have been suspended around 7-10 ft below the ice.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~ Chuck Clark
