I am thinking about getting a wheel house for next season. I was sitting here looking at the permanents sitting out on the lake and a couple of heating questions came to mind. If you leave your permanent unattended for a day or two, or maybe even the whole week, do you turn the heat off or leave it on? If you leave it on, do you leave it at the same temperature as when your in it, or do you turn it down? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It depends on how much money you have... smile smiley

I don't think its neccassary to leave the heat on but thats just me,It only takes a few minutes to heat up a Fishouse to comfortable levels.
I do know people who do it for days at a time it will help with keeping the holes from refreezing.
I used to keep my pilot light on but never the heater.

Retired on Osakis..... must be nice!

Welcome!

well lets see 100 pound tank will last atleast 7 to 10 days depending what you have on and how high you have it.i head up to lake of the woods almost every week.i always turn my heater off.if the house is banked good your holes will just have a skimm of ice on them.i pay about $60 for a refill on a 100 pound tank.i have 2 of them but i would just turn the heat off.
