Where are they biting on East Rush? I've been moving south from the public access on the north end of the lake, but have yet to get anything. I'm using crappie minnows and wax worms. I'm in about 10ft to 15ft of water.
I would try a little deeper. The fish are really sticking to the bottom out their... Straight out from flickabirds, the channel has some huge pike and many BIG gills in about 10ft. I also did well on some nice eating size perch in about thirteen ft around the same area (just left of flickabirds road).. If I were you I would keep working south and if you can get out during the week go next to the permanents in around 20ft. the only crappie I have found this winter in rush were in at least 18ft of water.

If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
