Not at the present time. I've been thinking about adding that function, but never got around to it. One thing a lot of you probably don't know is that I built this forum myself. I am a web developer and thought it would be kind of cool to build this from scratch. A lot of the other forums you see out there, in fact, all of them as far as I can see, have bought the software to run a forum. Either bought it or found free code. That is all fine and dandy, but a lot of the fishing sites out there are run by some who know pretty much nothing about writing code. Since this is something I do for a living (code) I decided to give it a wack. What this means is I can do just about anything I want. File uploads, stickymail, autoresponders, etc -- you name it.

Part of the problem though, is time. Another part of the problem is I am trying to keep the site as a non-profit which means I probably am not going to dish out money for programming or code. There are a lot of things I want to do with little time to do them. And to keep the site non-profit is paramount as far as I am concerned. It keeps these forums unbiased and since I let guides, resort owners, bait and tackle shop owners all advertise and post pictures for free, I think eventually that will be the key on attracting a lot more users.

Long winded... I know. I just got an email from a user who was wondering if we could have a "views" for each thread. You know... how many times a thread has been viewed. I think I might tackle that one next, the only problem is that the views for past posts will be skewed quite a bit. I have some threads that have a hundred or so posts but it would look kind of funny to show only 3 views for that thread... oh well, I'll work something out. As for the auto email, I was going to implement that, but a while ago, I tried bulk emailing all the users and guess what? About 30% of all the emails that users filled in are bogus. For the first 2 years, I didn't require an email response to register and now I am paying for that. Oh well, we'll see what we can do crazy smiley ooo smiley crazy smiley

wink smiley

Oaky, I implemented views on all main forum pages. Lets see how we do on this. Looks pretty pitiful with no views. I started to update some numbers in the database, but it's gonna take a long time to get the right amount of views up there crazy smiley
