Out on medacine on sat at 7 am on south west beach laying in a slush layered 8 - 10 in of ice. augered 10 holes found a school in around 17 ft of water with a structural drop to my left. a good bite but all small perch i would say 10 to a lb if that indicates anything hitting on a flow head jig with crappie minnows. vex was picking up big bites at bottom but couldnt get them to hit i fear that lake has already been over fished will be going out on thurs will report again. have a great new year everyone!
well i lied i went back to medacine last night with wax worms fishing west side bays caught lights like a christmas tree on the vex never seen so much color in one area in my whole ice fishing career. out of all tis light had one bite tried to set a hook couldnt get it done. i was out with my brother in law had two vexs so i know i wasnt seeing things , just could not pull any through maybe it was a crappie minnow day but no dice with fat waxys. will be going to minnetonka this weekend and new years day will report soon. ice was 9-11in thick
