My buddy and I went out on Chisago yesterday.. fished the south side of the lake. Set up above 15 ft of water. From 1PM to 3:30PM caught a bunch of bluegill. Some keepers. Then I switched to jigging a small rapala. I was jigging a couple feet above the fish and every one of them that came up was a crappie. The minnows and grubs werent catching anything but that Rapala caught me about 15 crappie over the next hour and a half. Then as it got too dark to see I realized I forgot the lantern and had to call it a night..
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
