Our ice was looking real good. We had a nice base of 4 to 6 inches before the first snow.The first light snow blew off the lake. The second snowfall was a quite a bit more. Then the winds came and caused some drifting with wind blown drifts rock hard. This caused some slush pockets which froze over before the latest snowfall 5 to 7 inches.The few fishermen that have ventured out have been catching walleyes, with Tyler from bearpaw landing a 45 inch pike tipup fishing early ice.Friday before the snow I saw 4 portable atleast 4 miles out and maybe more. I can tell you one thing they did not walk out there.I'am never in a hurry to be the first one on the ice.Once the house's go on the lake I will be out there every day for up to 3 months.
This year I will be planning on using agassiz road. After his devistating fire last year I feel it the right thing to do.He is committed to rebuilding on a smaller scale and his new bait store should be open in a week or two "Get Lucky Bait"

Welcome to My Fishing Pals. Glad to have you aboard! Thanks for the report. I noticed from your profile that you guide up there. I could add some information to your signature file (i.e. website, phone number, etc.) if you like. All of your reports and posts would then have this information at the bottom. Might be able to drum up some business for you.
And what do we get out of the deal? Hopefully, more posts from you on what is happening on Upper Red Lake!

Well... we aim to please. I have a tendency to bend over backwords to keep the guides posting here. The way I see it... the more experts, guides, bait and tackle shop owners, etc... the more people will visit to see what's up. It's been working good so far!
