OK.. I need a depth finder for ice fishing. Marcum or Vexilar??... One of my friends told me to get a marcum because If I try to use a vexilar around any one with a Marcum the Vexilar won't work. Other than that issue he told me they are the same quality. I'll be getting one soon so any opinions are halpful..

Thanks,
Logan

Lowrance Ice Machine works well with others, check out the 67, or the 68, the 68 has the GPS Capabilies.
there happens to be a used 68C for sale here, reasonably priced

I seem to recall that there was a thread about this last year, or maybe the year before.

Maybe someone can dredge it up?

I have only used a vex but I have heard alot of good things about Marcum's and the IceMachines.

If you ask 100 guys you will probably get 100 different answers. Look at the options and try to find the unti that offers the best features to enhance your prefferred method of fishing.

Price is usually the best indication of what unit to buy. It usually seems that you are able to find a bargain on one or the other most of the time and I think thats what dictats what people buy more often.

There can be some interference issues with flashers if you fish in a crowd. The simple fix to that is, don't fish in a crowd, the fishing is usually better away from all the noise any ways. If your fishing buddy has a flasher then maybe buy the same brand so that you have less issues.

Really I don't think you can go wrong as long as you get a good price. All the flashers on the market will help you find fish no doubt.

I had a minute to look and here is an old thread that talked about the different Vexilar machines (w/another link inside). Can one of the mods hotlink? The thread is in the fishing products forum on page 4. There are some other threads in there about both brands.
