Yeah, I was there. Fishing wasn't that great, but we did okay. Caught some walleyes, crappies, perch, northerns and sunnies. A wide variety of stuff yet nothing worth keeping. Some of the sunnies were the jumbo variety, but not really worth it if you only catch a few of them. The 'eyes were all under 12" and not worth keeping. Northerns? I don't keep them.
We used mostly leeches and fatheads on various colored hooks. Almost all fish were caught in less then 8 feet. Some on the river, some in the big lake.
As an aside... it sure was a beautiful weekend. Lots of colors starting in the trees. It was perfect for fishing. I really needed to unwind and it was just the ticket. I think the trees will be peaking in a week or so. Boy... I sure do love fall!
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
