Hey Webdude and Gang,

Dude, Like minds - I just asked the same question on our forum.

Before the coldsnap, I got out locally and got into some 13" crappies.

ScumFrog would have had a blast! About 7:30 P.M. the bass started slammin' my flu -flu. Seven bass total - largest were 5lb, 4lb, and 3lb. Just a riot on ultralight.

The crappies have been scattered all week. I am hoping they return to the shallows this weekend. Going out on Saturday in the St. Cloud area. If you can find 50+ degree water temperatures, then you’ve found the crappies.

Well, I had planned to go out on Sunday, but by the time I had the boat ready, it started SNOWING! Phooey. I'm a bit of a fair weather fisherman, I guess, in my old age.

Well, I made it out. To tell you the truth, it sucked. Not sure what the weather was like here in the Metro, but up there, it was windy, snowing/sleeting and the temps were close to freezing. And besides that, we didn't even see a fish on the graph. Tried everything we could within reason. Also tried depths from 2 to 30 feet. Nothing. On Sunday, I looked at Tap Tap Tap as we looked out the window and we said "forget it," and cleaned the cabin instead (getting it ready for the opener).

I sure hope the weather calms down a bit before we head up again. At least the dock and lift are in and we are ready to go.
