Well, it's not really the Metro area but I had some fantastic luck wet wading in the Kettle river a couple weeks ago. I just couldn't keep the smallies off my line, caught some walleye and a northern as well. The water was pretty shallow, so it was really easy to pull them out of the deep pools, once I found them. If you go you might want to bring an ultra-lite set-up. My old man and I started out with flys and were catching near fingerlings.. once we switched to ultra-lites we were catching some really nice fish.
