I will be making my first trip to Lake of the Woods this Friday to do some Down Rigger fishing.
Even though I did this for kings I have never had the opportunity to do this in a private boat were I get to be a bigger part of the action.

First off I am looking for any pointers on this weekends trip?

Second thing I have been juggling around in my mind is setting up my boat to do the same thing.
I have a 18' pro-v with a 150 and would be looking at mounting a couple downriggers off of it.

I am basically clueless about this style of fishing so any help equipment wise would be great!

Anybody have anything used?

Walleye King,
I know your just poken fun but I will tell you that when I was in downrigging for kings that is what I thought. I just sat there and when the guys said fish on I cranked like I was winching the boat in.

These guys that invited me sold me on the fact that it would be way more fun than that. I am a hands on guy and can hardly handle sitting. The also needed a third person... cool smiley ... the price was also right so I thought I would give it another shot.

Is there a better live bait bite going on right now?

Fisheye just in case lets talk about your rig. Drop me a email please.
