Well folks, the fishing has slowed a bit on the big pond. We aren't catching 'eyes in the same numbers as we were a few weeks ago, but what we are catching are some very nice fish - usually over 23 inches. We have been catching these on crawler harnesses with a little flash of orange or red. I've been using Colorado Spinner Blades For Crawler Harnesses and they have been working great for the big fish. Most of these are multicolored and we have had the best luck with orange or red blended with dark green. Shrter snells seem to work better.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
