I have heard some people swear by one of them and then other people swear by the other.

I'd like to hear more opinions as well, most other sites will only give you half the story becuase one of these companies is a sponsor and they can't upset sponsors so no negatives can be mentioned.

In a nutshell it depends on which lakes you fish.

Navionics Premium north has more Lakes including out state lakes from Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Mich.
Lakemaster Mn is just Minnesota lakes it has better road mapping along with the ability to zoom in closer which allows you to follow your contour lines "breaks" better.

Both chips have a lot of High Definition Lakes around 80 each these lakes have been surveyed "Mapped" using boats with hightec equipment along with satellite imagery which creates a very accurate map some with accuracy down to the foot, the rest of lakes 100's more are enhanced DNR maps which are not nearly as accurate as the surveyed HD maps and subject to errors, still valuable though.

I'll post the Lake list tomorrow when I have some time.

Personally I prefer Lakemaster it has most of the Lakes I fish in HD maps, also the detailed road mapping is a bonus especially for hunting and the better zoom capabilities makes it best for me.
I payed $79 for my 07 Lakemaster MN chip I think they retail for $99.
The Navionics Chip was $149 with a $50 rebate last I checked both great chips and valuable tools for locating structure on a body of water quickly.

I do plan on getting the Navionics chip eventually so I have the best of both worlds... smile smiley

Hey Pier,

These chips will fit in my H2o, right? I haven't checked the prices for a couple of years and they have really come down. I may have to pick one up.

Also, I have some special spots marked currently in the H2o. When adding the chip, it won't blow away these spots, will it? Not a big deal, just wanted to know.

Yes both chips will work in your H2O and in a lot of other Lowrance sonar/gps units, not sure which unit you currently have in your boat but if its a gps unit and has a card slot the chip will work in it also.

No you will NOT lose your current waypoints with or without the chip installed.

You are going to want the 07 Lakemaster it has BS and Aitken in High Definition.
The chip will run you between $79 and $99 depending where and when.>

I have the lakemaster 2007 Minnesota chip, the Devils Lake chip, and the Lake of the Woods chip. I use them in my Lowrance H20C. The chips are SD and are plug and play on the Lowrance units. Very nice!

Here is a comparison between Lake Master and Navionics.
