Mille Lacs report from 6-23-07 Between 3 of us we caught 25 walleyes in about 9 hours. Smallest was 16 inches and the largest was 27.25 inches. We caught them on leeches, nightcrawlers and berkly gulp. Most of the fish came from the bottom of the flats in 30' plus feet. Average size for the day was 24-26 inches. With no wind we had to use the kicker to move around, average speed was around 1 mph.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
