would anyone happen to know if i were to put an empty sd card into the card slot if it will expand my units memory capasity so i can add more waypoints and icons above and beyond the units built in storage capasity? the unit is a LMS480m. Thanks for your help!

well after reading the specs from the Lowrance site don't look like it heres what i have found..

The card will not allow you to add more memory for waypoints as they are saved to the GPS internal memory only. When you save data to the card you are creating a duplicate file of your waypoints, trails, and icons.
