Hello, I'm new to your site and like it very much so far. I went fishing today in preparation for the big crappie contest next weekend being hosted by Lord Fletchers. Wanted to make sure the boat was running smooth and ready to go. We fished for panfish, didn't have any luck with crappies but did catch a few sunnies. haha... yes, only 8 sunnies but, maybe things will start hitting hard come the contest next weekend. We don't really go to compete but to enjoy the festivities, the people, and most importantly... the fishing. The fishing was excellent last year at this contest so looking forward to this next weekend. It was a nice day out today, water temps on Lake Minnetonka were 56 degrees. Just a gorgeous day. Hey guys, we want to go fishing again tommorrow but we live over North so we're interested in checking out a lake over North this time (we live in Coon Rapids). If anyone has had any luck so far since iceout this year on any lake for that matter (a north lake would be nicer) let me know please. Nice website!

A couple of lakes to try on the North side would be Elk Lake, just a bit west of Zimmerman ( Crappies are hitting pretty good) and Blue Lake which is just North and east of Zimmerman. Nice crappies there too!.

Good Luck!

Hey KarenandFred,

Welcome to My Fishing Pals! Glad to have you aboard!

I am going to be spending the day tomorrow on Bald Eagle with the kids to see how they're doing. I'll keep ya posted. This is more to make sure the boat is checked out for the opener, rather then some hard core fishing. Of course, that is a great excuse, isn't it?

Hope to hear more from you in the future!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I do like your site very much. Friendly people on it. Thanks for the tips on the northern lakes worth visiting. Unfortunately it has been raining all day so far today... bummer huh? If it would stop we'd still go out. Still have bait from last night we'd like to use but we'll see how it goes with the weather. Maybe if Sunday proves to be alright. Talk to you again!

Heck yeah! Boat is DEFINATELY wet tomorrow. Even though the outboard is out of commission, the trolling motor still works!!
