I just got your email and set you up with your original account info. I tried emailing you several times but MSN keeps bouncing your email back to me saying that your mailbox is unavailable. Since I cannot email you, there is no way the App here could email you for confirmation of your registration.

Your username is fishin4fun

I hope you remember your password. I don't want to give it out here.

MSN (hotmail) is junk!!! Half the people with these accounts are not getting all of their email. It's their version of cutting down on spam.

During the past 2 months, the really big ISPs, in an effort to stop spam, have really been tightening up on their security. The big problem I am having is that they suddenly do not allow for 3rd party mail servers. What this means is that if you have a small company and use, let's say Comcast, for your internet connection, therein lies a problem... and this is how it works...

You sign up with Comcast and when you do, you are allowed to have up to 5 email accounts with them. Might be 10, I don't know. But, let us say, you also own a small company, let us call it My Fishing Pals, and that company is hosted by a small development company called CIPromo. You set up an email server at CIPromo and call it mail.myfishingpals.com and that is what you want your emails to be. So you create a user email account and call it sales@myfishingpals.com. Now, since your ISP is Comcast and that is how you get your Internet connection, when you are surfing the Web, getting emails, doing anything on-line, you are going through Comcast to do this. The trouble is that Comcast now does not allow 3rd party email servers. In other words, when you try sending an email through Comcast to your email server called mail.myfishingpals.com, Comcast sees that email and they say..."That's not one of our servers!" and they will block it. The only way to get around this is to sign up for an email account with Comcast and set your outgoing server to Comcast and your incoming server to mail.myfishingpals.com...

Well, what a royal pain this has been ooo smiley crazy smiley crazy smiley Customers of mine that have their email accounts set up through my servers suddenly wake up one morning and now they cannot send emails anymore. They don't call Comcast... they call me because I am the guy handling their email. Lot's of ISPs are adopting this policy and there are thousands of posts on forums out there of people complaining. MSN, Comcast, AOL, Earthlink, etc., etc., have adopted this policy. Not only that, they really tightened their spam filters so it's getting harder and harder to send emails to these accounts with links and images in them.

What is really frustrasting is the fact that it is Comcast's (and the others) fault for the spam situation in the first place! They are the ones that ran open relays, bad authentication, etc., for years and allowed all this spam to happen. What servers do you get the most spam from? AOL, Ebay, Earthlink, Comcast, MSN, ya da ya da ya da. The list is long. So in their effort to tighten security, they are penalizing the small hosting companies that have been running a tight ship to begin with.

Now fishin4fun was actually a different problem... at least I think it is. I just cannot email him. It gets bounced back saying "mailbox not available." Not sure if it is full, my email was marked as spam, or whatever. I wish the bounces would give you a bit more information. Then I could adjust for it... but it always seems to be a moving target.

I predict that it is going to get more difficult then better. What with black and white lists, DNSBL, spam and virus filters and everything else out there to block emails, the false positives will go up. False positives are legitimate emails that were intended to be sent and received. It's getting to be a big, BIG mess out there!!!!

That might explain why I have people who suddenly cannot email me. Thanks for the update.
