Hey guys. I have a Lowrance X67C. Sudddenly this year, it seems to be working intermittently. Oddly, it seems as if will only register depths less than 20 ft (appx). It will work fine for a few minutes and then the display slows down to a crawl, becomes cluttered and my depth display number will just continuously flash. You can still see the contour of the bottom somewhat, but it is not as defined as when its working properly and the screen has more clutter on it. If I shut it off and turn it on again, the depth sits at 0 and flashes. The temp is reading just fine as far as I can tell. Then after I move the boat to another depth, it will come back on for a bit and work fine, then go away again. I have turned all other accessories off as well as the boats ignition.

HELP!...lol

Thanks guys...

Jim

Yes sir! That's me! I have moved into dial-up land and it has kept me from surfing much. But I have a new boat (experiencing some problems with the sonar I bought as well as the starter on the Mariner 115). But now that I have found this place again, I'll be buggin ya'll more often!! I would love to find someone else with an X67C that works to hook mine up on their boat and see if it works. It's crunch time as the season opener approaches!...lol

Fish on brothers, fish on!

Well, I turned the unit on and listened at the transducer and it IS pinging. So that either leaves some wire interference or the unit head itself is bad I guess.

Fireball, maybe next week sometime I will take you up on your offer to try your unit on my rig. I'm going to try to get the boat on the water this weekend to try it out some more. Finances are keeping me from getting that starter fixed any time real soon so I guess the trolling motor will have to work for now. I tried to explain to my wife that the kids already ate this week and I'm sure they could sustain on Cheerios and bread for a week but she didn't buy it...lol

Fireball, thanks for the phone call. It's good to know guys are out there to help.

Thanks again all,

Jim

Dads you can have your starter rebuilt for much less then the going Marine rate of $300 for a new starter.

Yep, I found a used starter for $85 and cost to rebuild is about $100 so I will definately be having it rebuilt as soon as I can afford it.
