Got my tickets and it's going to be a hoot as always.
BD,Ashley will be there this year & you could talk to her.
The Big show is Sunday ,but Sat. is when all of the good stuff happens in the Zoo.

Aug. 9-12
Brainerd Int'l Raceway
Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals
Aug. 9-12
Brainerd Int’l Raceway
5523 Birchdale Road
Brainerd, MN 56401
www.brainerdracewayandresort.com
Elevation: 1,200 feet
Tickets: (218) 824-7220
Radio Frequency: 103.5 FM

NHRA’s version of a weeklong campout, this event is a popular stop due to the area’s recreational opportunities. Avid fishers often spend the days before the event trolling the area’s many lakes for walleye, bass, and northern pike, and a huge onsite campground provides nightly camaraderie for race goers who sit around fires discussing the day’s action. A 700-foot concrete launchpad, one of the longest on the tour, helps boost performances as teams compete for positions in the final two events in the important Countdown to 8 cutoff.

How to Get There: The track is six miles north of Brainerd on Highway 371 north. From Minneapolis, take Highway 10 north to Highway 371 north; go north to the track.

Visitor Information: Brainerd Int’l Raceway, (218) 824-7220 or (866) 444-4455; Brainerd Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, (218) 829-2838 or (800) 450-2838; Nisswa Chamber of Commerce, (218) 963-2620 or (800) 950-9610

you can go to http://www.nhra.com/ to see all of the good stuff on what's happening.

yup it is every year, being from over that way ,you know that right Iceman.
This will be my 6th year there & it gets better every year.
Your reserved seats in Section N is the section if you wanna embibe. We sit towards the top. Espn did a thing & had our crew on camera last year.
There's nothing like being in the stands when those nitro cars haul there rears 330 plus down the track.
Getting into the pits and shaking hands with all of the drivers .Talking with them is so cool.
I'm on a mission this year to get John Forces autograph.Ashley again too .Robert Height is another guy that I missed at Indy last year.

Oh yes, the smell of burning nitro .How SWEET it is.
Oh ya the betting too. I've been doing lousey on my picks this year. Here's to hoping I can get a handle on that.
I cleaned up the last 2 years.
I hope the hot tub is there this year again.
I'm taking my sister Kelli this year.
That's gonna be a blast getting her up close & personal to the action.
Both on the track & in the Zoo.
The bands and fireworks are a show not to be missed either.
The same people go every year too so it turns into old home week.
How ya been, what ya been up too.
Ya BABY!!!! Burp that dragster for me will ya!

Gas is for washing parts, alcohol for drinking & nitro for going fast, fast, fast.

Screw fishin ,lets race!

Camping is only 10$ a night BD and we got a spot just outside of the Zoo in the family area right on the main drag so you can see all of the cool bikes, tubs, barstools ,tractors and the like dressed up like dragsters.
If it has a motor in it they ride it around.
Racing all day and barking at the moon all night.
It's one heck of a spectacle for sure.Tlak with other at Indt last year and noone knew Brainerd or BIR ,but mention the Zoo & they were all in the know!
I was talkin to Kenny Berstein and he was busy signing autographs. I said to him "we love you in the Zoo" and his head snaps up & he give's me the thumbs up for my video.
Everyone on tour loves it over there. It's like a mini vacation for the drivers where they even bring in their famlies.

Hey Nolavj,
how ya been.
It's so nice to see you've chimed in.

When ever I recant Indy last year I always talk about how nice you were to my son.
David fell from a rope high up in the air & cracked a vertibrae in boot so they gave him a medical discharge.
He's healed and is now leaving late June to Wyotech to learn how to build chassis and motors, then he's trying to get into the NHRA.
He's applied to several teams and they are interested should he be in the top of his grad class,so we are all routing for him.

I've ruined him on NASCAR. All he wants to do is snort NITRO!

Thanks for popping in to say hi.You were & are a special memory!
