Hello all, I have a buddy coming to visit St. Paul mid June. He want's me to show him what all the fuss is over bass fishing. Wondering what lakes people would suggest to rent a canoe and catch some bass in the Metro. I saw that Lebanon Hills in Eagan and Calhoun & Harriet in Mpls. all have rentals. Is one better? Any other suggestions? Thanks
Calhoun has some decent bass fishing, if you get there right after they chop up the weeds it can be a little tough. But you do have access to the entire chain of lakes so you can probably find a place with a few willing fish.
The rentals are $15/hour or $40 for a half day on Calhoun.
Just look in the normal places, except you won't find many docks to fish since the entire shoreline is public property.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
