Fished the Whitefish Chain Memorial Day weekend. Friday, Saturday nite, and Sunday.

Crosslake- only saw fish on my finder deep in Moonlight Bay, 40+ ft. and deeper...dragged rapalas and the like on planer boards, lots of weight, no planer boards, spinners w/redtails, or leeches, got nothing. Middle of the day and 9PM or so. Worked the area south of the twin islands, LOTS of fish in the 30-40ft. trench on the east side south of the islands anywhere from 22 to 40ft. deep. Lost one good one, but otherwise nothing. All trolling. Used alot of stuff out of tackle box. This was the area that we saw the largest concentration of fish.

Dagget- fished all over on Sunday, nothing. Saw nothing either.

Little Pine- fished sunken island in the middle, nothing. Fished entrance from Dagget- one northern in 25ft. Nothing to write home about- a little small.

Whitefish- Worked entrance area west of entrance to Trout Lake- nada. Worked shallower water near entrance of Rush about 10P for awhile with leeches, redtails, jigs, spinners, two Rock bass, good size. Foley's bar, had a number of boats around, we didn't want to barge in as it was a bit crowded.

Tough weekend- weather didn't seem to help. Trolled many colors, many lures, spinners, and live stuff. Must've been my deoderant. smile smiley

Haven't tried the fingers yet- but will. I forgot to mention water temps in Dagget were 58-59, Cross and Whitefish 55-56. grin smiley

Trout lake was also one of my favorites, pulled lots of large
Northerns right as you come into the lake about 20 yards down
shore to the right from 10-30 feet of water, is it still narrow
and shallow getting in there, would get Crappies right under the
Dagget Brook Bridge on the C&C boatworks side, For the Walleyes
I would troll the deep side of the weed line, from the southern
point of the bay where the Dam and go all the way down to the
airport, just a standard lindy rig has always worked great, if
your a lure guy, spooner plugs were the ticket, I don't get over
much but I had lots of fun there as a kid, The last time I drove
threw they were building the new dam, but the river was always
great fishing, Good luck I hope it's some help. Chef
