I am looking for a new rod to pair up with a Shimano 2500 Sedona spinning reel.

Something that is a good all around rod (jigging, casting, trolling...)

I am not blessed with a big budget so a good rod and a good price is important. Any ideas?

Gary Roach has his own line of rods.
They are around $40-50.
They'll do what you need it to do& do it well.
Reed's has them.

Best bang for the buck in my opinion is the Shimano Clarus rods. I would have to go 6'6" medium spin.

This rod you can jig, rig, cast/pull cranks, and easily cork fish........

I think these rods go for about $60 and have lifetime warrenty, over the counter exchange.......

I'll have to take a look at them. I have a B-day coming in June so I am hoping some thinks I am worthy of getting a gift.

Great choice on the Reel by the way!

Another option is Ganders Guide Series also over the counter exchange which is really nice for us river guys who are hard on our equipment.
I just returned my second one snapped it in half coming up the stairs.

I asked for a new reel for christmas and my wife spent some time talking to guys at Dicks Sporting goods and a few other places and decided on the Sedona. All I told her is I liked Shimano and she did the rest. I love the reel, great reel for the price, I guess I must have picked out a good wife if she is able to go out and pick out a good reel for me.

Those Roach Rods are nice especially for the money.

But Gary's not using a $39.99 Rod he's probably using Loomis or St. Croix along with his Mr. Walleye SuperPro Trolling Rods which are around $150.

The one I just ordered retails for about $130. I wish some one would help him with his web site. Not much info there.
