Since the last thread was a little long and getting cluttered I thought I would start a new one.

Any new reports from this last weekend?

I was out last night until the lightning chased me away. It was pretty slow only a few people down there and not alot being caught. Looked like maybe a few small white bass or crappie, it was hard to tell from where I was. For me I had a few light bites but nothing landed in the 30-40 minutes I was there.

As I was jogging back to my car during the lightning and thunder that came just before the storm I passed a girl and her boyfriend, the girl made some comment to me about how I must be afriad of the lightning since I was jogging. I didn't really answer her but no more then 1 minute later the heavens opened up and answered her for me. I am sure both of them were soaked from head to toe and both were wearing really nice dress clothes. I think she knows now why I was hurrying back to my car.

I almost headed down myself and then remembered I too am scared of the Rain and lighting...LOL

After a nice little run down there things have slowed a bit, I think its going to be more of staging area then a consistent feeding ground as in years past the rain was nice but we still need a ton more so Lake Minnetonka can open the Dam up.

I know the Walleye's and White Bass have moved up by the Ford Dam I was out with friend in his boat and we nailed them pretty good lots males in the 12" to 16" range and nice 25" female that was still in spawning mode.

I’ve never had any luck down there…..no fish what so ever. You would think it would be a so-so spot…but zip, nadda, nothing……Go figure.

Have any of you ever kept any crappie from down there? I saw some being caught and kept on Monday night and was wondering how good they are. I would assume the water is fairly clean, I know people catch and keep walleye and crappie from pool 4 and all their water comes from up here.

I might go down this week to see if I can get into a crappie or two.

NF,
Good luck, I've caught some nice ones down there in the past years.

I am craving a meal of fresh caught fish, hopefully if I eat a couple I won't grow a tail or something.
