Thought I would introduce myself, My name is Justin Catto and I was raised in Hudson, Wisconsin and moved away about 20 years ago. I missed MN/WI so much that the family bought a houseboat 6 years ago and we now spend a good bit of time up on the Mississippi and St Croix rivers during June/July.

Question:
Would anyone around the twin cities, Stillwater, River Falls, Hudson area be interested in going walleye/pike fishing this June??? My father goes with me but to be honest I think he just hates to see me go alone :-) I have a 16ft deep-v smokercraft that I fish out of. At the risk of sounding concieded, I know how to fish for walleyes, I just don't know the waters up here other than the St. Croix. Just thought someone up here might wanna do some fishing with a southern boy.

I mainly fish the St. Croix and do pretty well, but would LOVE to try out some new waters,If you will supply the spot, I'll supply the boat and bait. :-)

I'd like to learn how to fish the Croix for Walleye's my experience on the Croix is just some Sturgeon and Catfish angling.

Are you going out tonight or tomorrow for the St. Croix River Walleye opener?

Bobber down: Sarcasm is hard to detect on the net. I may have just taken your response in the wrong way. Was there something wrong with the offer.

I do pretty well on the Croix, I don't get skunked but at the same time I am not limiting out either. I like the whole Lindy rig thing, its a fun way to fish and you can cover a lot of ground.
I play with the smallies as well on the croix and they can be quite a handfull, usually do well with them too.

I would really just like to expand the places I go to. I am only around for a month or so, so there is no worry of me taking your honey holes.

Quick observation: Folks up north will darn near get in the boat with you they fish so close to you. Must be southern hospitality but we never gte closer than 100yards or so , unless we are passing through, and we slow down for that too :-)

Still, I absolutely love it up there and my fondest memories are on the rivers and lakes of Minnesota.

Thanks for the response,
Catto

jwcatta,
I'm sorry, but I was being Truely Sincere! I'm sorry you took it the wrong way, but I was serious! There are not too many people that would offer to take others out fishing, and supply the boat and bait! If I'm around I would love to go with some time! No I wasn't trying to be sarcastic.

Awesome, Last thing I wanted was to get started off on the wrong foot with a new group of people.

As of now I will be coming up the 1st week of june and staying through the end of the month.
Anyone that wants to get together, lets do it. I like to fish during the week cause the weekends are way to full of rude, drunk, huge boat driving mamalukes.

What are some good waters that are not far from the Hudson/Eagan Areas? My houseboat is docked at Twin Cities Marina, but I drag my smokercraft anywhere.
