Just thought I would give a report from today. I was fishing on Lake Minnewashta in Carver County this afternoon. Pretty much just to check out temps and water levels. The water temp was anywhere between 40 degrees and 44.5 degrees. The small bays really warmed up quickly as the sun got brighter threw the day. I saw lots of large carp and schools of sunfish already taken over the shallows. I did get into the sunfish. Although they were all pretty small. I did see a few bass up in the shallows. So they are already seeking out that warmer water. I can't wait until I can fish for them. Really not much luck on the crappies. I think I will head out there again tomorrow! Bring my ultra ULTRA light rod with and have a little fun with some sunnies!
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
