A couple of days ago, there were a few guys out on Isle Bay, but you wouldn't catch me out there. I think they're nuts
Everywhere I've been looking, I see up to 100 feet of open water on shore and around the islands even though it's been below freezing at night. I think the current snow is just going to make it "seem" safe. As far as I am concerned, it's time to change the lower unit fluid and charge the batteries. If it gets as warm as they say this weekend... it won't be long!
There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot. - HookedGood
I live just south of mille lacs and it is not safe even if you can get on the ice!!! but i had some friends that were fishing mille lacs and were catching some dandys....I was told that 14" was the smallest that they were catching. I was not along so i can't confirm the report!!
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
