A buddy and I fished today. got out there around 9 a.m. the crappie bite was tough due to the low pressure im sure. we had a hard time marking fish but when we did, they seemed to be hungry. We ended up with 15 crappies and a nice jumbo perch as well as a couple small walleye and a northern.
Ice was in ok shape, about 3" the first 20' from shore then it was good the rest of the way. If you go out, just use caution and even though we seen a snowmobile out there, I wouldn't advise it.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
