Hey folks,
I've been toying with the idea of picking a time span to archive old posts. You will still be able to search them and read them, but you will not be able to reply. I am trying to figure out two things...
Should we do this?
And if we do, how far do we go back?
Actually I have been thinking... should we do all the forums?
Feedback welcome...

Anyone else?
Things to think about... Another thing I have been thinking about is having a special forum that has some of the best, most informational threads that have been posted here dumped into it. I see Ted bumped up one from The Fisher that is excellent about Muskie fishing. There are some of these gems in there that should be mined out, so to speak, and they can live somewhere for all to read. It would be a shame to archive them and have them disappear.
Thoughts?

Another thing... I gotta get rid of that chatroom. Every time I go in there it's empty. Pretty useless, if you ask me. The only reason I have been keeping it up is because if you search minnesota fishing chat room in Google, it pops up number 1.

ya I go to the chat room and nobody there is there a way that when somebody goes there that maybe you can have a little window pop up down in a cornor that shows somebody is there and then if nobody uses chat room then in a few months can get rid of it. catch you on the flip side

Anymore thoughts on this? I really like the idea of a spot to put the most memorable posts. There has been some truly fantastic information that had been bantered about on this site and unfotunately, it gets buried and never seen again. How about a rating system for the best information posts?
Anyway, I am still toying with the idea of archiving dead content and implementing some changes. Who wants to look at a fishing report from 2004?
Thoughts are welcome
