Help - I am helping to plan a fishing trip for approximately 15 people - we have our own boats. Looking for a really nice resort that can accommodate 15 people in one cabin/house. Would prefer a resort that also has activities for kids/swimming/beaches.

Main goal is to catch walleye... Would prefer less than a 6 hour drive from the Twin Cities....

Any advice or recommendations?

My first choice would Mille Lacs Lake maybe Hunters Point resort or Izatys great Walleye fishing and not to far from the Cities.

izatys

hunterspointresort

Choice 2 would be Lake of The Woods maybe Sportsmans, Wigwam or Ballards.

Good Luck.

Thanks PierBridge

Very nice of you to respond

I need all the help I can get. I currently am looking at Island View Lodge and Cabins on Rainy Lake but more interested in Timber Bay Lodge because they have an incredible huge log house available. Are you or anyone else familiar with either of these locations. Timber Bay Lodge is located on Birch Lake in Babbitt, MN??

Thanks again!!

Two great choices! it's always a good time up by the boundry waters canoe area.
Rainy is an incredible fishery and area, I have not heard of Timber Bay but being near the Boundry Waters I'm sure its awesome.

I guess my only concern would be with lakes you can fish up there some have motor restrictions but I'm sure you could find something that allows motors or bigger motors.

.timberbay

I wouldn't wait to much longer to book something....good Luck.

It's a good idea to try to find something soon. The better resorts are filling up fast and I'm sure most are already booked full for July. Particularly with a group of that size. You might want to google The Minnesota Resort Association, they list hundreds of resorts all over the state.

The secret to fishing is to catch the biggest fish and to catch it early.
