I broke away from the normal this weekend and brought some of my favorites over to a small wisconsin lake just east of Siren. I must say that there were hundreds of sunfish to be caught with a mix of crappies to keep things interesting. I was told that the weekend before that most sunfish averaged 7 inches. We averaged a little smaller than that but it was a non stop bite. Catching is still catching in my book. For sake of the locals I will not mention the lake name. I just dont think this lake could handle alot of pressure.
I went armed with THE Jig and was impressed with the results. Just like CK talks about it really resembles a small minnow. It worked hands down the best on the perch and the crappies. I went about 50/50 on the sunfish with it. Part of the problem also with the sunfish is I could of used a 1/100th oz but did not have any with me. I will take care of that problem this weekend on the outing. After I downsize I was back in the pack slammin fish! I will post a couple pics of the nice ones.
This picture will never do justice to the size of the sunfish! This girl teased her sisters but good when this came throught the hole!
My buddie Vince came over with his son Pat and ended up with a great crappie! You just know its nice when each end folds in the pail.
Of course the weather just made it simply awsome out! This is a family event!
