So not alot of ice fishing talk going on so lets talk about open water. Some of us are probably starting to get that itch even though there is still some good ice fishing to be had.

What type of open water fishing do you have on the brain right now?

Personally I can't wait to just go down to the Mississippi River and cast for some walleye and smallmouth. Also a canoe trip down the St. Croix fishing for pig Smallies sounds real good right now.

What about the rest of you, whats your pleasure?

NF,
Last year was my first experience fishing the mighty Miss. and I have to say I had a blast! I'm truly looking forward to sitting on the dock at the cabin and watching the sunset, while catching some eye's smile smiley!

I am definitely looking forward to the spring and the opener. Cold weather does that to me.

Here is what i have either planned or am working on at the moment.

My wife is myight be out of the coutry for 3 weeks in May so I that means 3 weeks of fishing.

I will be in Seattle for a week at the end of June, and I think we are going out on a charter trip for a day of Salmon fishing.

Hopefully BWCA trip.

Atleast one trip to my favorite Duluth lake.

Multiple trips down the St. Croix.

And lots of nights casting the shores of the Mississippi.

What month is it again???

I am tired of fishing with cold fingers.

Hey SF,you said the wife would let you come fishing once the ice got safe.
Almost 3 foot by now,so when you headin up?

Fishing the Willow or Mississippi early on is great for some hog eyes.
Round or Squag early on is great for sme nice eyes too.

I miss the soothing sound of my trolling motor ..putt,putt,putt then you feel that singal tap.A few seconds goes by & it's time to set the hook, driving it to the bone.
Oh ya,bad to the bone.
Fish on!!!

We always snag a few eyes inadvertantly of course.I'll shoot them & post here.
