I was at Gander Mountain on Saturday and saw they have portables on sale. The Clam 2000 I was looking at was $169.99 not a bad deal. But I did notice they now list the regular price at $229.99 when all season long they have had them for a regular price of $199.99. Sounds like they are trying to make a good deal even better by misleading the public a little.
I know this is a common tactic in the retail world however that doesn't make it any less annoying to me.
30 bucks is 30 bucks NF. You are right though. I just went to G.M. for a couple of rods.9 bucks each yahoooooooo, what a sweet deal.I used to buy lightning rods at 25 bucks each. They do not any longer & the fight is the same.

Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
