Whitewater State Park, located just north of St. Charles, will offer a HISTORIC ICE HARVESTING DEMONSTRATION and a GOLDEN EAGLE FIELD TRIP on Saturday, January 20. Visitors to Whitewater will learn how to cut and store ice using tools and techniques from long ago, and search the area for golden eagles to assist with a larger golden eagle survey. WINTERFEST 2007 will be held throughout the city of Spicer each Saturday and Sunday, from January 20 through February 4. Mille Lacs Kathio State Park, located at the city of Onamia, will offer a WINTER BIRDS PROGRAM on Saturday, January 20. Hole in the Day Bay on Gull Lake at the city of Brainerd will be the site of the 17TH ANNUAL BRAINERD JAYCEES $150,000 ICE FISHING EXTRAVAGANZA on January 20. The JOHN BEARGREASE SLED DOG MARATHON will be held from Thursday, January 25 through Sunday, January 28. This rugged 390-mile sled dog race runs along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
