Sunny skies
50 degrees air temp
32-38 water temp
Windy out of the north

Who would ever think that I would be fishing in open water, in my kayak in the middle of January. Never thought that this would be happening, but I am taking all that I can get. Going to get cold this week and I would imagine we are going to ice over and then it will be a wait to get on the water.

Where do I start, oh yea, I start where I left off the last time I was to my new favorite lake. The fish are not getting any pressure what so ever and are hungry like you can't believe.

From the picture you can tell the baits of choice for this day were. Loby Baits were on fire and no matter which Loby Bait I had on, the fish were biting.

It was a nice day and around 50 degrees but of course there was a nice wind out of the north and made the fishing fun as usual. I was fishing in 18 feet of water and the fish were any where from the bottom up to 12 feet. The screen on the Vexilar was lit up like a Christmas tree most of the time that I was out there.

This pond is getting no pressure what so ever and these fish act like they have not eaten in weeks. Just makes it that much more fun for me when I am out there and I can't get enough of it. This was a fantastic day and I caught between 50-60 fish this afternoon.

I used Loby Baits for the majority of this trip. I used 8 different Loby Baits and those were Stoni, Drag n Mag, Rocki, Mousi, Leaf Leach, Maki, Buggi and Spiini. I wanted to see what the bite was like with all of these different baits and they all performed right up to par. One thing that I liked the most was I used all of these 8 baits and all 8 went back into the box after fishing. That shows you the durability of the Loby Baits and makes them a very worth while and dependable bait. Try the Loby Bait product line if you haven't yet as I do not go on the water without them anymore.

Keep in mind they are not ice fishing yet & you have been. I think there is some drooling going on over there too.
