Just got back from a night and part of a day out on Waconia. Me and a buddy caught over 25 crappies. Also caught a 23 inch walleye along with a lot of very small walleyes - I mean we are talking under 12 inches. We threw all the walleyes back. Had plent of crappies to eat. A pleasant suprise for us. Looks like we got at least 10 inches of ice out there. I told my buddy I wouldn't tell exactly where we were. People around there get kind of up tight about too many people out on that lake.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
