Dice,
I know this may sound CRAZY, but I like to use Preperation H for scent. It is made with Shark Liver Oil and the fish love it. I learned this trick in AK when we were fishing for King Salmon. We put it on our spoons we were using and had out limit within 1/2 hr! You could see it was really working b/c as soon as you put it on, schools of minnows were following the lure in!

Just the regular Prep-H, not extra strength or anything special just the standard will work. And if you want to make sure you have the right one, look at the ingredients and it should say Shark Liver Oil on there somewhere.

I have to have pre-H with me for other guys that are taking it hard seeing my fish.LOL

On the serious side. I've caught so many fish without scent. I believe it to be just marketing. They number in the thousands.

Agreed, but when nothing is working it's kind of a nice Placebo! I would say I use it about 25-30% of the time when fishing in the summer. And once in a while ice fishing, not every time!

They should make bait with that on it already...

So wait let me get this staight, minnows go towards the P-H and then bigger fish come to get the minnows in which they see the lure...smell it and go for it...right or wrong

I'm not sure how it works, but the reason I was telling you about the minnows is b/c they would never chase the bait without the scent, so I was just saying the must like something about the smell! I think the bigger fish smell it too, no I don't think the minnow chases the bait and the fish chases the minnow. After all how would the minnow eat the bait??????????????/
