Headed up thursday night with the girlfriend and another couple. THe other couple left friday night 8 eyes and 3 saugers. Eyes ranged from 15-19 most being 15 or 16. My girlfriend and I stayed up till noon sunday and brought home our 8 eyes and 1 sauger all 15-16.5. All in all it was pretty slow, I dont think we caught more than 15 fish a day but they were all very nice fish, including one 36 inch pig of a northern. We were in 21 feet and all by ourslef. Marked a ton of fish, for the most part they were prety negative. Had 3 other buddies in 31 ft and they brought home their limit of eyes and a few saugers but they were quite a bit smaller than ours. THats why I like to stay shallow, may not catch as many fish, but all in all they are much nicer. Oh, I almost forgot, friday night we caught 4 keepers from 630 pm till 1230 am. It was the second time I have ever caught fish up there after dark. We caught a few last weekend after dark as well.
remind me closer to the time you are up there. Chances are good i may be as well. I have 12 days in up there so far this year including 9 in december. A personal best for me!! Out to the mud and rocks soon though by sled. Just need a litle snow to get out there.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
