Try to stay awake while reading this post its going to be a real YAWNER!

Fished the the west side most of Saturday and I managed to catch one fish the entire time. I had to let it go though becuase I couldn't get myself to kill such a mighty fish that was obviously the king of its domain. So I let that 3-4 inch perch go to continue its life in peace, truly I was just thankful that it graceed me with its pressence.

So I fished some points that started in 20 feet FOW and topped out at around 10 feet. Marked alot of fish but nothing was willing. I tried it all but nothing worked. Even THE JIG failed, or maybe I failed THE JIG I don't know but I didn't catch anything else.

It was the same reports from everyone I talked with. Bites in the renatal were non existent.

Went by Rocky Reef for lunch on the way home and Rockman said the reef was slow on Saturday as well, although a few fish started being caught Sunday morning.

Lots of bad reports all around though.

Someday I will catch some fish on Mille Lacs, maybe I'll need someone with some experience on the lake to show me the ropes. Becuae I am starting to run out of ideas.

Well there it is folks, I hoped you enjoyed reading about my futile weekend of fishing. Oh and I also lost $1 playing poker with the boys.

Enjoy.

Its always a good time up there even if the fish aren't coming through the hole as often as you might like.

I am trying to find another weekend where I can make a day trip up there and give it another shot sometime soon.

Maybe we can find a time to meet up, you can show my how its done.

You know it was tough for alot of people on several different lakes.
However if you look to my post of hurting the horn & Dadshamp went to school ,you'd see several slabs.
Now keep in mind that everyone else not using the jig went home with very little or skunked.
3 guys using the jig sat. got skunked too.
It comes down to technique. With out the proper lift & size.I say size cause after reviewal I noticed Dadshamp had an 80th on when I was running the 100th. It made all of the difference.

Maybe you should burn a day & fish with me so I can teach you the way of T.H.E. JIG.
No matter as long as you are ok with the time & money you spent searching for a pig on the big pond.

Although the fishing was slow we did invent a new sport of sorts.

Not sure what to call it, but the basic equipment needed is a car, a rope and very slick ice.

Tie the rope to the back of the car and sit on the ice and hold on tight.

With the ice as smooth as it was this weekend we were able to get up to a pretty good speed. I think I might have set a new land speed record for a guy getting pulled behind a car while sliding on his butt. If someone is able to break the 30 MPH barrier then you have me beat I had to let go at about 25 MPH or just a little over becuase the ice started getting rough.

I think this new sport saved a slow day of fishing. Its amazing what things guys will come up with when fishing is as slow as it was.

I want to come up this saturday but I have a b-day party to attend.

I am looking at maybe coming up with my dad one of these weekends, most likely on a sunday. I'll have to keep in touch as I get my plans set up.
