So it all started with me calling him to rub
some salt in the wound.
I told him to come here & see the report of
hurting the horn.
Well after a good cry from seeing the
slabs he missed he calls me back.
How many jigs do ya have he says.
I had sold out on this day & was just finishing my 1st.
1 I says.Well he says I'm comming up to fish
with you tommorow & I need 25 or 30.Well I tied
20 last night & got up early to get another 10
tied.We met at Sathers & headed for the Horn.
We no sooner set up & he drills a 12'er.
Then I smacked a 13"er then I get another 11"er.

That's when trouble moves in.Lets just say Fl-8s
were in a 30 yard area. I did not want Dadshamp
to have to learn with all of the clutter on his screen.
So we moved & basically got shut down.
1 woman sits 5 yards away right by my house. She saw
the damage from yesterday & figured I had the spot.
Well she was right ,but there are fish all
over.Anyway we moved & marking fish got real spotty.

Finally after 2 moves we went back & fortunatly most
of the other guys started to move trying to find fish.
We moved back to the starting point & I drilled 4 or 5 more.

Dadshamp gave it his all & was very attentitive to what
I was showing him.The fish had gone tight lipped compared to yesterday. So it was a tough day and a new commer to the spring
was not going to fare well.I had a hard time,so I new he would
really struggle. He missed a couple as getting used to the
light hit of the spring caught him off guard.
Dadshamp did pay attention & gave it his all to the end.
Bad back & all.I give him credit for being so postive
about the whole day. He does know fish though & he could
see how finicky they were.
I know he'll get the hang of it as he was a quick study.
Cudos DS on that mule.
We caught 8 total,Rick had 4,Aaron had 4 & Larry had 2.
So 18 fish between 4 guy's using the jig.
All of the other minnow guys caught 1.

Once DS gets home,he also has some pics to post.So come back to see them.

Here are some pics.....

Well, nothin like a little Sunday School with Keith! What a blast. Although the action was a little slow today, the jig system was absolutley the ticket! With the minnow guys around us marking fish and cursing, there is no question that the jig system was going to be the most productive.

My trip today was not JUST to get on some fish, but to learn T.H.E. Jig/spring system. I went away today with a whole new understanding of the jig and how to work it. There is no doubt in my mind that this thing was catching fish when other baits just werent gonna cut it.

I'm looking forward to implementing this on my local lakes.

Lastly, I want to thank Keith and Dude for a great time. Keith was a wonderful host and a great teacher. Not just of the jig but also the fish and its habits.

Keefer, I'll be back! I'll be posting more in the products forums after I get kids to bed!

Heres a couple more pics!!! P.S. THE FISH TASTED GREAT! smile smiley

Thanks DS,
You know you were like a sponge taking in everything I said.
You picked up on it all so very fast.
Reading the 8 to the spring to the jig.Plus your good hearted nature made it so easy & very enjoyable.
I think I made a friend for life with you.I do not know many guys that have what you have,a true spirit.
I can name a few here & every trip is cherished.Weather it's grouse ,ducks, geese, deer, fishing trips that I've had since meeting with these men.I recall everyone of them with delight.
I'm looking forward to having you back. I'm glad the kids got excited too when they saw those mules!

At least you noticed. You can't be to slow on the uptake.
I thought that maybe you could not drill the fish for a mental reason.I was wrong.LOL
