I use a demon with larvae or minnow, sometime with a bobber or spring or even deadsticking.

I do not know about the rest of you -- but my favorite bait has been and always will be going out and collecting a bunch of Milkweed bulbs and cutting out that tiny white "bug" !! Not sure it was always the most productive bait -- but by far my FAVORITE bait !!

Setting on the ice - cutting out the tiny white "bug" and catching some great panfish will be an experience one will never forget !!

Question - is it just me or are there a lot less out there for the gathering ??

Are those little bugs called goldenrods. I remember walking through a frozen swamp collecting those things with my dad. It's a good way to use your resources.

Its a rod that you will bait with live bait and just let it sit (No jigging) Put a bobber on it and wait. Jigging something lively will often times bring fish in but they will at times prefer to eat the bait that is just sitting there and then will go after the dead stick.

So in the winter while jigging away with one rod that second rod set up as a dead stick is important.
