Sunny morning and cloudy in afternoon
47 degrees air temp
Very Windy from SW with gusts over 25 mph

Christmas Eve and I am still fishing open water and never thought that this would be happening in my wildest dreams. Thankfully we are not stuck with a skim coat as this would not allow any fishing whatsoever to happen. Only thing wish that the wind would let down a little.

But we take what we can get and get the kayak out once again and enjoy what our creator has put in front of us. Today was a tough day to fish, not fish wise but boat control wise, as it was very gusty and winds were gusting over 25 mph and the anchor was having a tough time holding.

But the fish didn't seem to care what the conditions were that I was being faced with. Today's venture was a day that was going to be using only T.H.E. Jig and see what I can do with this bait here on the East Coast. I will sum up what I think of T.H.E. Jig in one word, AWESOME. I will not be able to stop talking about this Jig as CK has something very special with what he is making here.

No matter where I was trying and there were fish on the graph, T.H.E. Jig was producing and doing that very well. I started with a 1/64 oz version and was catching fish with this but figured that this may have been a little big. So I went to the 1/80 oz version and never looked back and never got to fishing with the 1/100 oz version. The only thing that I really had to do was add 2 BB sized split shot because of the wind being so strong.

I went through a few different colors but I don't think that this day there was really a specific color that produced better than the others. I think that CK has a very good point with the "down sizing" theory that he is always talking about. When times such as winter, the food in the water is fairly small and these tiny jigs are something that most are not fishing and I believe they are missing the fish by a mile.

The setup that I was fishing entails that you have a spring bobber on the tip of your rod. There were many fish that I caught that I didn't see any movement at all even on the spring. But the other bites the spring barely moved and you have to really watch the spring closely. For the fishing line I am fishing 2 lb mono that is .005 in diameter and this is another deciding factor as to how many fish you are going to catch.

T.H.E. Jig is a tool that every angler should have in the tackle when they are out fishing. There was no meat, bait, added to the Jig and all of the fish that I caught were from just the Jig. I want to thank Keith for tieing these Jigs and feel that his theory of down sizing and not using bait is a very valid one and should be utilized by all those that fish.

I give a big thumbs up for T.H.E. Jig (Totally Hot Everyday Jig) and the work that Keith puts into these. I used one jig to catch a majority of these fish and it held up very well and still looks as good as new. I look forward to when I get to go out once again and catch numbers of fish as this is another tool that can improve your fish catching abilities.

Not a problem CK about spreading the word about T.H.E. Jig....easy to talk about something that works so well....the PFD is a law here to wear between Sept and May...with the cold water temps I am wearing it so that they can find me if I were to fall in and can't get out....gives me a few minutes to try and get out...
