I am a little freaked out right now. A co-worker of mine, who was a member of this forum, killed himself this weekend. Not sure why. He always seemed upbeat to me and he was an avid muskie fisherman. He used to be a regular contributor here before the database crash. He was into his last class to get his degree in Computer Science.
To me, there was no indication of any problems he was having. I just talked to him last Friday about the up-coming opener and where he was going to go. The shock of this is pretty heavy. I will miss him.
"Take the time to listen when friends call late at night."
You speak the truth. You just never know when you may make a difference. If possible, try to convince a suicidal friend to contact the local hotline. The people there are trained to handle potential suicide situations, and do an excellent job of it.
