I'm really concerned over the water levels around Mille Lacs Lake and the Rum River. I'm a big Rum River fisherwomen. The water level at Kathio state park is lower then I have ever seen. Born and raised on the Rum I have never seen when there was no water going over Milaca dam. Well I seen it this year. There is alot of only 4 foot of water in the river. I'm afried that alot of bass may get frozen out.
I also have spent a great many wonderful hours on the Rum River -- mainly down near the Anoka area. Even that far south is truely is amazing how little water is flowing over the Anoka Dam and into the Mississippi. Hopefully we will get a good amount of snow this year and by spring it will be flowing nicely once again.

My favorite ponds could also freeze out around the metro. One lake that is only 14ft is now 10ft. Maybe this mild temp will keep it up for the season. Not good for icefishing but it would keep our fish.

All the romance of trout fishing exists in the mind of the angler and is in no way shared by the fish. ~ Harold F. Blaisdell, The Philosophical Fisherman, 1969
