I have always used a Clinch knot. I like it because, when you get good at it, you can tie it very quickly. Seems to work well for me...

Clinch knot works for me uoo..

but if you are useing fire line or something like it you should wet it down first..

I gotta vote with everyone else --- the improved clinch is what I use 99% of the time - but have been known to just tie a square knot when in a hurry !! LOL

Palomar knot for braided line "powerpro,fireline,spiderwire" is the only way to go.
