I just got a $100 visa gift card as a christmas bonus at work, it is good at any store where visa is accepted so that basically means its good everywhere.

I am having a hard time figuring out what i want to spend it on.

Here are my ideas so far:

new digital camera
clam 2000 or frabill outback 2 man portable ice house (split the cost with my dad)
random assortment of fishing gear
new ice poles
christmas gift for the wife

So what do you guys think I should spend it on? Any other ideas I didn't come up with yet?

I would probably spend it on fishing stuff....Like a new rod/reel...Some more spinners,spoons,fake bait,real bait,real fake bait

If I recall you froze when you took out someone not too long ago.
Sounds like another shack should be a priority.

I'm leaning toward the portable. Its nothing fancy but it will keep me warm. I have never fished out of an ice house before with the excpetion of mille lacs rentals. Its would be nice to get out and not freeze my butt of every time. When it gets to zero and below its hard to convince myself to go out when I will just be sitting on a bucket out of the ice with no protection.

I used to do that when I was under educated. Now that I use the jig & I need my line straight, eyes not froze up & staying warm&toasty,my reel not froze the porty is one of my most needed pieces of gear along with a heater.

if it wasn't for my fingers freezing up I can deal with some pretty low temps. I have been out on the ice unprotected in -20 degrees on several occasions. If I don't catch any fish and can keep my gloves on all day its not bad but when i catch a fish or need to retie a lure then I need to take my gloves off and then its all over for comfort.

I am pretty hearty even though I have no body fat to keep me warm. But I think the protable is the way to go.
