Looking for some good quick strike rigs -- My father in law is a big time tip up man - but he looses way way to many fish. So time to get him onto quick strike rigs -- anyone know of a commercial one that puts a rubber band through the nose cavity of a sucker and pins a double hook below the dorsal ?? A few years ago I use to make my own and they work great -- they hang wonderful under a tip up !! When you pinch off the leader a few inches back from the main hook with a clip clamp -- you make a good looking L shaped leader -- with a snap at the joint you can thread a rubber band through the nasal opening of a sucker and slip the triple hook under the dorsal -- keeps the sucker setting nice and they seem to last a lot longer -- of course they dont last long when the Pike are on the feed !!!
If people concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing rods. Doug Larson
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
