Has anyone ever rented an icehouse from them? I am planning on being there the weekend of Jan 6-7th and I am wondering about how good the fishing is and how good the accomidations are.

Any info would be appreicated.

I will be up ther with 6-8 guys but only a few of us are really into fishing so those of us that are itching to catch some walleye will venture from the house in search of some biters. Does anyone have any tips on the west end of the lake around Twin Pines?

I hope so. We are working on getting a final head count and then we hope to book a reservation ASAP.

This will only be my 3rd time on Mille Lacs and I am dying to get into some of them big walleye.

That's still early enough in the season for them to be active.
Bring a camera as you'll have to let more go than you can keep ,because of the slot.

Chances are I will let them all go. Its about the hunt more then the dinner for me. I will keep some perch if I get into them for dinner if I choose.

I'll bring a camera for sure and document the entire weekend.

I am hoping to avoid the hangover I had last year. Its hard to focus on fishing when you are nursing a hangover.

Last year it was more just to hang with the guys and drink and play cards. It was really late in the year and by all accounts the fishing was terrible for the last 2 weeks before we got there. So fishing was secondary.

This year however I planned the trip for a month earlier so that we should be there during a better time of year. I am sure there will be some drinking and some cards at night but for me and atleast one other guy fishing is going to be a major priority.

I am also planning a day trip with my dad on the 20th of Dec. I am thinking of either hitting a couple duluth lakes or maybe getting up to Mille Lacs and walking out either at Rocky Reef or Myr Mar.

And of course I am thinking about hitting a local lake that I know has a shallow bay that freezes early, I might see about getting out there next weekend.
